Where were you born?
Orlando, Florida
What is your favorite food?
Mexican food is my ultimate favorite. I lived in Colorado for five years and that is where I grew my love for authentic Mexican food.
How does your experience as a massage therapist help in your work at Truhlsen Elder Care Law?
Once I obtained my degree, I moved with my husband to Massachusetts and started working in a nursing home as a Rehabilitation Technician. There I grew my love for working with older adults, and assisted the therapists with treatment and administrative skills to help keep the Rehab Department running smoothly. Though my work now is more administrative in nature, my medical knowledge and background helps me understand the needs our clients have and helps me do a better job of meeting them.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you want to have with you? My Bible, a blanket, and food!
What is your idea of a perfect holiday party?
One where I didn’t have to prepare any food, the kids were well behaved, and we had all our friends and family around to share in and enjoy each other’s company.
Name one thing that few people know about you.
I have five very active children and I am married to the Pastor of First Baptist Church in Tekamah, Nebraska where we have served for almost three years.
What’s the best movie you’ve seen lately?
I love all kinds of movie genres. My favorite movie is You’ve Got Mail with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. I love watching kids' movies, too. With five kids, who can escape watching a kids' movie? I love all the Pixar movies, particularly Ratatouille.
What do you enjoy the most about your job?
First, I love helping things to be organized. I enjoy nothing better than creating good workflows so the office runs smoothly. Second, I love getting to meet new people and talking to people on the phone. After a while, you start to recognize each client's voice and then you are able to deepen those relationships. Our overall goal is to help others. The best way to do that is to develop a relationship of trust so people know they can call and get a friendly voice, and that their question or concern will be heard and responded to.
What do you like most about living in Tekamah?
I love living in a small town. We have about 1,800 people there and I enjoy getting to know the other parents from the school. I like getting involved in the community events with the local churches and making friends with people in the neighborhood.
What is your favorite hobby?
My favorite hobby is to crochet. I LOVE it! I enjoy making things and giving them to others. It's so rewarding to see their faces light up with excitement for something homemade. That is rare nowadays.
